The global geological park of Dong Van (DVGP) includes the districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac. It became the member of the network of 30 geological parks around the world in 3 October 2010. This is a potential land of natural resources, geological heritage, and cultural heritage of 17 ethnic groups, and it has a lot of advantages to develop the stable tourism.
The management board of DVGP has recently processed many training classes about the professional knowledge, foreign languages, natural and humanity values for the key staffs in the departments of tourism, as well as the tour guides, restaurant, hotel, etc. Meanwhile, they also build up the system of the introduction and instruction signs, publishing the magazine, leaflet, disc, etc to broadcast about the park to the public. From those actions, people’s awareness has been raised in the protecting the heritage. The small and illegal exploitation of stone have been banned and stopped and moved to the areas that have less effect to the park. People are also trained to have their daily activities less effect. Ha Giang also cooperates to the authorities ad departments to restore the traditional culture to encourage the artisans in protecting the traditional folklore culture. This is a general policy in the target of stable development in the process of stable DVGP.
The management board of DVGP has built up the general plan to develop the geological park to submit to the government. It is hoped that the plan would increase the protection to the heritage in the coming time.
